Impre$$ed

I am now very impressed. See this from the Trib:

State Rep. James Talarico raised $6.2 million in the first three weeks of his bid for Senate, his campaign announced Wednesday, a massive haul that far outpaces the earliest fundraising numbers tallied by recent Democratic statewide hopefuls.

The staggering total, easily more than Talarico has brought in across his seven years in the Legislature, establishes him as an immediate fundraising juggernaut. Talarico’s foe in the Democratic primary, former U.S. Rep. Colin Allred, took two months to raise the same amount last cycle when he kicked off his challenge to U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz. Beto O’Rourke, who set a new standard for Democratic fundraising in his 2018 run against Cruz, needed nine months to reach the threshold.

The donations came from more than 125,000 individual contributors across more than 230 Texas counties and all 50 states, according to Talarico’s campaign. Almost every contribution — 98% — was for $100 or less, with teachers making up the largest share of donors. Talarico’s campaign said it was the most a Senate candidate of either party has raised in the first quarter of their campaign in Texas history.

Congratulations to the Talarico Campaign for this impressive amount of dough raised. Let’s see if he can keep this up.

We are in a partial federal government shutdown mode. I don’t see how Democrats can be blamed for the shutdown when we don’t control a single branch of the federal government. We will see who blinks first. Postal service deliveries will continue. I don’t think I will personally be impacted – at least for now. Stay tuned.

My Beatles wall calendars for October has the four playing on the “Ed Sullivan Show” from February of 1964 and the other calendar is the .45 record sleeve for “Please Please Me” and “Ask Me Why” from 1963 with Paul sitting on the floor, John sitting in a chair, and George and Ringo standing.

The featured photo is my Astros STH polo that I picked up the final weekend of the regular season homie. I guess I will wear it next season on opening weekend.
