Light Up the Park
Congrats to the Texans for making the NFL playoffs. It didn’t look good when we started the season 0-3.

The featured photo is from Daikin Park at the Light Up the Park holiday lights extravaganza. I went Friday night with Yolanda and Carol who are with me in the featured photo. The photo was taken at home plate on the field.
It is a real cool experience. There are multiple photo opportunities. The Astros have attendants stationed throughout the layout that will take your iphone and snap pictures of you and your fellow attendees.
There are light displays of all the team logos past and present. Some of the seating sections are immersed in lights. The displays start on the concourse, run underneath the park, and are on the playing field. It took us about 45 minutes to navigate through the brightly colored lights. Weather permitting, the roof is open and there are also concession stands throughout.
The tour winds up at the Team Store just in case you want to purchase gear which I did. This is the first year the Astros have produced their Light Up the Park, and they did a terrific job. I got the team discount and ended up paying $36 per ticket. I am looking forward to next year’s extravaganza.
Light Up the Park runs through this Sunday, January 4. I recommend you give it a try.
I wore sneakers and when I got home, I noticed the bottoms of my sneakers had a red tint from the infield dirt. Cool.
My featured photos for this week will be from Light Up the Park.

That is all I have to say on the last Monday of 2025.
