Let’s see. On January 31, 2026, we will finally elect our member of congress from the 18th congressional district.
On March 3, 2026, we have the Democratic Party primary elections.
On April 4, 2026, we will have the special election for Houston City Council, District C.
I will take my 2026 mail ballot application to the post office tomorrow.

State audit critical of TSU finances
Here is what Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said about this:
“It is my hope, for the sake of the students at the university, that TSU can continue. TSU is solely responsible for this fiasco. If TSU does not remedy the situation, the legislature will.”
I hope someone tells Patrick that MAGA Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed all the members of the TSU Board of Regents. If there is a financial mess at TSU, Abbott owns it.

Last night, illegal fireworks inside of the city started an apartment complex fire that damaged several units. Gunfire at a party sent five to the hospital with gunshot injuries. 2026 is looking like 2025.
