Commentary has a few takes about last night.
Harrisvotes.com needs to explain why it takes over 30 minutes to post the early vote totals. Counties throughout Texas started posting their early vote results right after 7pm. Not in Harris County. It is disappointing and ridiculous.
We finally got complete and final results in Harris County at around 7:15 am this morning. Say what you want about Stan Stanart.

State Rep. James Talarico is our nominee, and we get another two months of Sen. John Cornyn and cheating, crooked Ken Paxton bashing each other. I get a feeling Cornyn is going to put out some more juicy stuff on Paxton. Cong. Jasmine Crockett conceded this morning and called State Rep. Talarico.

Congrats to Cong. Sylvia Garcia for winning in the gerrymandered 29th congressional district.
It looks like Cong. Christian Menefee and Cong. Al Green are headed to a runoff. I no longer vote in CD 18. I am now just an observer. I thought Menefee would win this race outright. What do I know. Maybe Green can get around to put together a real campaign. Heck, I think he was in D.C. yesterday.
I really am not surprised that Leticia Gutierrez is the Dem nominee in CD 9.
On the GOP side, MAGA finally had enough of Cong. Dan Crenshaw. It looks like Alex Mealer and State Rep. Briscoe Cain will duke it out in a CD 9 runoff.

I thought former H-Town Mayor Annise Parker would win without a runoff in her race for Harris County Judge. Nope. She is in a runoff.
MAGA said no thanks to Houston Firefighters union honcho Marty Lancton for Harris County Judge. Marty didn’t even make the runoff. He had the backing of MAGA Gov. Greg Abbott and Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham and others. Marty wasn’t MAGA enough.

Kelly Hancock will be looking for a new gig. Good. His anti-DEI arse got handed to him yesterday by Don Huffines.
MAGA Mayes spent a ton of his own dough and now has a commanding lead in the runoff over Cong. Chip Roy for AG. I wonder how Roy will try to rebound.

I had the flat screen on MSNOW, and my iPhone was on KPRC Plus. KPRC Plus had a few talking head politicos on to discuss the results. Apart from Charles Kuffner, the politicos were pretty much lightweight.

I don’t agree with today’s Chron hard copy headline in the featured photo. Candidates drove voters to the polls.
Now it is off to the runoffs.
