Cheating Yankees
The Texas GOP clown show continues. The GOP Texas House Speaker is in Washington, D.C. meeting with folks and he tweeted that he was there seeking “federal reimbursement for state expenditure on border security.”
For years, the GOP controlled Texas Legislature has been throwing away billions of taxpayer dollars on so-called border security and producing zilch in the results department. Arsehole Gov. Greg Abbott’s recent vehicle inspections on the border produced nada and cost the state and country billions in lost commerce. Now they want the feds to bail them out. Morons.
Ok, I take it back. All that money has produced something. Photo ops for these clowns.

It is par for the course. Commentary is talking about the increased vitriol caused by the GOP. Locally, they have been hating on Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo since she was elected. You know, the young, Latina deal. In this Donald Trump climate, the threats against her have increased.

Harris County Commissioners Court voted along party lines Tuesday to hire an outside firm to provide security for County Judge Lina Hidalgo, replacing constable deputies on the judge’s security detail at an estimated cost of $120,000 over three months.
The new arrangement means Hidalgo’s security will no longer fall under the purview of Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen, one of the county’s several elected law enforcement officials who have publicly sparred with the Democrat-controlled court over funding. Rosen’s chief of staff, Erica Davis, unsuccessfully tried to unseat Hidalgo in the March 1 Democratic primary.

Commentary is cool with this. There is a lot of hate out there. I just don’t think deputy constables are cut out for this. It is better to have a private security firm for now.
It is also not good optics for the Chief of Staff of Constable Precinct 1 to run against Judge Hidalgo and at the same time provide the Judge with security. Not a good look.
I know the GOP critics are pouncing all over this. Well, stop hating so much and lower the temperature. We all know that is not going to happen. The GOP loves to hate on top Democratic female elected officials of color. Just look at what they are doing to Vice President Kamala Harris.
I wonder if former County Judge Ed Emmett had as much haters as Judge Hidalgo. Probably not. He’s an older white dude.

It turns out the Yankees were cheating too. In 2015 and 2016. Ay, yes. All the Yankee fans that went after Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman and the other players last season at Yankee Stadium must be feeling it today. All the F-Bombs they dropped on our guys – for what?
The Yankees have the most money for payroll and they couldn’t even get their cheating right. Sad for sure. Obnoxious Yankee fans.
