Let Down

We got word from ABC News that the Uvalde ISD police chief is no longer cooperating with the DPS investigation.

We also learned that a teacher did not leave the door propped open. The DPS told a live national TV audience last Friday that a teacher propped the door open and that is how the Uvalde shooter got into the school.

This is on the front page of the hard copy of the Chron:

The largest police labor organization in Texas is warning Uvalde police and the Uvalde ISD police to cooperate with state officials amid reports that the two agencies have stopped working with the Texas Department of Public Safety’s investigation into the massacre at Robb Elementary School.

“At this time, The Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas, or CLEAT, is advising our members to cooperate fully with all official governmental investigations into actions relating to the law enforcement response to the Uvalde mass shooting,” said a statement issued late Tuesday by the group.

Hey folks. This is Keystone Cops style law enforcement sponsored by Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and the Texas GOP.  This is an outright national embarrassment. But you know that.

Commentary is glad we still have a number of the media in Uvalde continuing to ask questions and find out the truth.  Abbott and law enforcement have let Uvalde and all of us down. What a shame.

I have noticed since the 21 from Uvalde were murdered, some nut jobs are posting photos of themselves and family members with their guns laying on the floor, bed, sofa, and kitchen counters. What is their point?
