Celebrated 99

My Dad will be celebrating his first triple digit birthday in 364 days. We are already having planning discussions for his huge birthday celebration.

Over 80 of his friends and family showed up yesterday in Baytown. We had a mariachi band and my Dad sang along to most of the tunes.  Good food and a very good time.

My niece Rachel did a great job organizing the gathering.  My Dad really enjoyed the celebration. Nice.

The arsehole Gov. Greg Abbott campaign will be running Spanish language ads this week in a number of markets across Texas. As of now, not in H-Town, Dallas, Laredo, and a couple of other smaller markets.

In the history of MLB, teams have won 100 or more regular season games in a season 112 times. The Yankees have accomplished this feat the most with 21 100 wins or more in a season. The A’s follow with 10. The Astros have 4.  Seven teams have never reached the 100-win plateau. They are the Blue Jays, Brewers, Marlins, Nationals, Padres, Rangers, and Rockies. Now you know.

Hall of Fame great Carl Yastrzemski is 83 today. The Boston Red Sox was an 18-time All Star and 1967 Triple Crown Winner and MVP. Happy Birthday, Yaz!

Since the All Star break, the Yankees have won 2 series and lost 8. We have won 5, lost 3, and split 2 4-games series.

We won yesterday, avoided being swept by The ATL, and still have a 3 ½ game lead over the Yankees for the best AL record. We have today off.
