One To Go
This from the Chron sportswriter Danielle Lerner pretty much sums up last night:
PHILADELPHIA — As J.T. Realmuto’s fly ball sailed toward right-center field, Chas McCormick’s eyes never strayed from its arc, even as his feet raced to keep up. The ball started its sharp descent and appeared destined to become a one-out double or triple. The Astros’ center fielder leapt off one foot and stretched his right arm to full capacity as his left arm braced for impact with the fence. A raucous stadium salivating for a ninth-inning rally was silenced.
With the ball encased firmly in his glove, McCormick laid starfished on his back on the warning track.
The photo of the catch is on the front page of today’s Chron hard copy sports section.
By the way, I have never read the term starfished before. Nice word usage
In 2017, we went back to Dodger Stadium up 3 games to 2.
In 2019, we came home from D.C. with a 3-2 lead.
Last year, we returned from The ATL, down 3-2.
What does this mean? Not a GD thing.
I would rather be up 3-2, like we are right now.
Trey Mancini came up big defensively last night.
We took 2 out of 3 in Philly. I have been told that their fans were meaner than Yankee fans.
It would not surprise Commentary if we hit 100,000 early voters today in Harris County.
Go vote early today and then #LevelUp tomorrow!
