The Cong. Sheila Jackson Lee campaign trotted out an endorsement for mayor by former H-Town Mayor Lee Brown. A few months ago, Mayor Brown endorsed State Sen. John Whitmire for mayor. To clarify matters, here is a statement yesterday from Mayor Brown:

“I never gave Sheila Jackson Lee’s campaign permission to use my name as an endorser. My endorsement remains with Senator Whitmire.”

Your guess is as good as mine as to why the Jackson Lee campaign put out a Mayor Brown endorsement.

My pal State Rep. Jarvis Johnson had something to say yesterday. Here is from the Chron:

Rep. Jarvis Johnson, D-Houston, announced Tuesday he will run for the Texas Senate seat currently held by mayoral candidate John Whitmire.

Johnson described the move as a “natural progression” of his political career and said he intended to be a “fighter” in the Texas Senate.

“The Republicans are ruling with an iron fist, so I think at this time we need fighters, people who understand how to leverage, people who understand how to fight, because at the end of the day I’m not trying to be somebody’s puppet so I can get a bill passed,” he said phone interview.

Here is the entire Chron article: Jarvis Johnson mounts bid for John Whitmire’s Senate seat (houstonchronicle.com).

Another Donald Trump campaign lawyer plead guilty in the Georgia case. Mark Meadows, Trump’s former Chief of Staff, has been granted immunity by the Special Prosecutor.  Trump is still the GOP frontrunner for the top office. Another election denier is being supported for U.S. House Speaker. Like I have said before, that’s your 2023 GOP.

Small complaint here. My birthday was this past Saturday. My family hosted me for a belated birthday dinner last night at a Houston Heights restaurant.  The restaurant parking lot was converted to an all-valet parking lot. We were charged $6 per car for valet parking. Then when they bring you your car, you have to tip.  Two family members ordered a glass of wine each. When they brought the bill, they were charged for a bottle of wine each, instead of a glass. Nope. My family members caught the over billing and had it reduced. Rip off.

Michael Brantley, will be a free agent this offseason.

Martín Maldonado, will be a free agent this offseason.

Ryne Stanek, reliever, will be a free agent this offseason.

Phil Maton, reliever, will be a free agent this offseason.

Commentary is not going to sweat this because there is nothing I can do about it.
