Vote Tomorrow

The featured photo is the front page of today’s Chron hard copy. I have family members who live in the Kingwood area. They are ok. Those of us who live close to Downtown are also ok. I feel for the folks who live near the San Jacinto River.

The Harris County Clerk will conduct the elections tomorrow for the Harris Central Appraisal District (HCAD) Board of Directors Positions 1, 2 and 3 and the State Senate District 15 Special Election. On the Harrisvotes.com website there is a list of over 60 Harris County local entities like municipalities, ISDs, and Mud Districts who will be conducting their own elections tomorrow. Do those voters get to vote on the HCAD Board of Directors or do the voters have to go vote at two different voting locations? Oh, well.

I saw this online:

President Joe Biden on Friday will award 19 high-profile politicians, activists and others the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is the country’s highest civilian honor, the White House announced.

There are two Latina honorees. Ellen Ochoa, the first Latina to travel to space and Teresa Romero, President of the United Farm Workers.

Congrats!

I got my seventh mail piece from the Molly Cook Campaign yesterday. That is seven mail pieces during this runoff and Special Election period.

After a little over four months, tomorrow evening we will finally have a State Senator from State Senate District 15. The Senator-Elect won’t take office until after the canvass, which will probably be nine or ten days later.

Astro Trey Cabbage is 27 today. Happy Birthday, Trey!

The Astros scored a win last night. We host the Mariners this weekend, the first place in the AL West Mariners.

Go vote tomorrow and have a safe Cinco De Mayo weekend.
