Maine Event
From Politico early this morning:
Graham Platner was far from establishment Democrats’ first choice to take on GOP Sen. Susan Collins. But they’re lining up behind him now — even if some are doing so begrudgingly.
With votes still being counted in Maine on early Wednesday morning, Platner looked to be winning just shy of three-quarters of the Democratic primary ballots. The strong showing marks a stunning political journey for the oysterman despite his many scandals — and it’s likely to quell murmurs from national Democrats that he could be pushed to withdraw from the race and replaced by another candidate.
The last couple of weeks we learned a tad more about the past life and times of Graham Platner. Maine Democratic voters also learned about his past and still overwhelmingly supported him. I am going to trust the judgement of Maine Democratic voters. Maine Democratic voters certainly know what is at stake in November. See the featured photo and on to the Maine event.

I saw this on Mediate:
Fox News host Laura Ingraham expressed frustration with President Donald Trump’s ongoing war in Iran on Tuesday, questioning how the Iranians were still able to strike U.S. targets if their military was destroyed.
Ingraham spoke with former State Department official Nathan Sales about the U.S. strikes against Iran on Tuesday in retaliation for the downing of an Apache helicopter by an Iranian drone. CENTCOM called the bombing a “self-defense operation,” claiming the move was a “proportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression.” Trump vowed to respond to the Iranian attack earlier on Tuesday, though he later claimed the move “wasn’t a big deal.”
The move came as a bit of a surprise because of Trump’s conflicting remarks and the 38 times the president has claimed that the two sides were close to reaching a deal. Fox News host Jesse Watters noted the frequency of that remark on Tuesday, claiming it had reached a point where he no longer understood “what that means.”
Ingraham made a similar remark a few hours later, questioning Sales on another long-repeated administration line.
“We keep hearing their military is destroyed,” she said of the Iranians. “But if their military is destroyed, how are they continuing to hit us? I mean, an Apache helicopter costs about, what, about $46 million?”
I have said since this Trump war started that Trump and his closest advisors were clueless. His “I call all the shots” line from a few days ago confirmed this. MAGA can’t explain why we are in a war. See the above. A clown show for sure.

Commentary said this last week:
Folks know that Commentary lives in the Heights. Folks know that I watch KPRC Channel 2 for local TV news coverage. Channel 2 now has a reporter dedicated to the Heights. See Channel 2 News reporter Nicole Nielson in the featured photo.
I think the Heights is a cool place to live. We will soon find out if we are worthy of dedicated Channel 2 News coverage.
I mentioned a few weeks ago that Kroger closed their store on Yale and 20th. When they closed the store, I thought about the older folks that live in the two senior housing mid-rises on 19th Street and Heights Boulevard and 20th. The Kroger is where they get their groceries. Sure enough, on yesterday’s newscast reporter Nicole Nieson did a story on these older folks feeling shortchanged that the Kroger that they walked over to is no longer there. The folks are now hoping that a new grocery store opens at the now vacant building. Stay tuned.

We lost last night. 10-1. Sigh.
