GOP Eight Commandments
Hello Summer. Of course, you’ve been here for a couple of weeks or so. Today is the longest day of the year. Enjoy it, y’all.
_____
Louisiana is now mandating that every public-school classroom in the Pelican State should now display the Ten Commandments. You know, a GOP thing.
The problem is, since around 2016, the GOP has pretty much sh_t-canned the first two commandments. It would have been more authentic if they had mandated their current Eight Commandments.
In looking over the ten below, probably number 6 is the only one Donald Trump hasn’t violated.
1.You shall have no other gods.
2. You shall not make idols.
3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord.
4. Remember the Sabbath, keep it holy.
5. Honor your father and mother.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not lie.
10. You shall not covet.
I am betting that you could spot Trump nine out of the ten and he still couldn’t name one. Just saying.

The featured photo was from the White House a couple of days ago. It was an event that focused on immigration and DACA recipients. As you can see, there were some stout Latino leaders standing with President Joe Biden at the ceremony. I hope the Biden-Harris campaign is pushing this image and message out to Latino voters across the USA.

57 years ago, today in H-Town, the following happened:
Muhammad Ali convicted in Houston, Texas, in federal courts for violating Selective Service Act by refusing induction into the armed services. He was fined $10,000 and sentenced to five years in prison. Ali, an opponent of the Vietnam War, had refused to report for service on grounds that he was a Muslim minister.
We all know the conviction was overturned.
The greatest.
