Mexico
My best friend and I attended the Team USA versus Mexico World Baseball Classic (WBC) game last night at Daikin Park and man, it was electric. See the featured photo. It was a sold-out crowd of over 41,000. Mexico fans outnumbered Team USA fans easily by four to one. There were Mexican flags everywhere.
We got there just before the game started. Mexican fans all sang their national anthem. It kind of forced Team USA fans to sing ours.
Early in the game, Mexico’s fans loudly cheered every key out, strike out, and good plays. They kind of got quiet when we jumped to a 5-0 lead in the third inning. Mexico chipped away at the lead and their fans got boisterous with every run scored in their comeback bid.
We ended up holding them off 5-3. Even after their loss, the Mexico fans were still cheering on their way out of Daikin Park.
The atmosphere was World Series caliber. The Mexico fans really brought it.
A great game and great night.
Team USA plays Italy tonight.
After last night, that is all I have to say.
