Deserving

Texas voters have spoken. I don’t know what else to say. I guess we deserve this. This is from the front page of today’s Chron:

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton claim nongovernmental organizations at the border that assist immigrants who arrive in Texas may have also helped people cross the border illegally.

“There have been recent reports that non-governmental organizations may have assisted with illegal border crossings near El Paso,” Abbott wrote in a letter to Paxton on Wednesday. “We further understand NGOs may be engaged in unlawfully orchestrating other border crossings through activities on both sides of the border, including in sectors other than El Paso.”

Abbott did not offer more detail on the allegations, and his office did not respond to a request for comment.

The arsehole Gov. Abbott has successfully manufactured a border crisis. Now he is trying to manufacture nefarious organizations that are allegedly helping migrants get into the USA. We deserve this, I guess.

Texas reelected a crook for attorney general and now see this from a Trib story:

HOUSTON — Employees at the Texas Department of Public Safety in June received a sweeping request from Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office: to compile a list of individuals who had changed their gender on their Texas driver’s licenses and other department records during the past two years.

Here is the entire read: AG Ken Paxton’s office sought state data on transgender Texans | The Texas Tribune.

Why? What is the point of this? Harassment?

Again, Texas just reelected this crook. I guess we also deserve this.
