Thanksgiving Week

On yesterday’s “What’s Your Point,” the Breitbart fella said the President Joe Biden administration “created two wars.” What a dummy. The Breitbart fella didn’t elaborate, but I am guessing he is referring to the Israel-Hamas war that Hamas started, and the Ukraine-Russia war that Russia started by first annexing the Crimean Peninsula in 2014 and the all-out invasion in February of 2022. These MAGA fellas just continue to avoid the truth and facts.

This being Thanksgiving Week, a lot of folks, including Commentary, are getting ready for Thanksgiving Day dinner on Thursday. We will be gathering at my niece’s home with her hubby. It looks like there will be eight of us. I will be baking a couple of pecan pies to take over. I will also provide some nice red wine.

Now let’s talk about this. See this from the Chron:

Late in their 32-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, after quarterback C.J. Stroud had been sacked for a safety on what was the Houston Texans’ final offensive play, cameras on the CBS broadcast panned to coach DeMeco Ryans.

His eyes were wide. Real wide.

He looked shocked, as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing, as if the team he had coached to a 7-4 record through the first 11 games was unrecognizable.

“We didn’t do anything well enough to win this game,” Ryans said when asked what he was thinking at that moment. “Too many negative plays. … Defensively, it was unexplainable. … We just didn’t play good.”

As Texans fans streamed out the doors of NRG Stadium with seconds still left on the clock, they probably had the same thought.

How could a team with Super Bowl aspirations lose to a Titans team that was 2-8?

Here is the entire read: Houston Texans: Loss to Tennessee Titans exposes number of flaws.

I was there at NRG yesterday. See the featured photo. I went to the game with my best friend. What a pitiful performance by the Texans. Everything that could go wrong did. The secondary getting burned by big plays. A nonexistent rushing game. Dumb play calling. A safety and a botched chip shot field goal attempt.

It was another embarrassment. The team is now 7-5 with a winning record, but the winning record doesn’t mean we are a good team. We are not.

I agree with the writer of the Chron article. I thought we were supposed to be legitimate contenders. We are not.

They sell a lot of beer in cans at NRG. Trying to get them to throw in a cup is an absolute pain.

Nothing to report on the Alex Bregman matter.
