One Less Hernandez

The head coach of the New England Patriots responded to the photos that surfaced recently with him and another woman holding hands and kissing. The woman isn’t his wife. Here is what he said yesterday:

“I understand that there are questions. I take accountability for my actions and the actions that caused a distraction to the people that I care most about, my family, this football team, the organization, and our fans. My previous actions don’t meet the standard that I hold myself to. They don’t.

“What I believe is best for the two most important things in my life – my family and this football team – is for us to take the necessary steps to work together, and to give them what I told them I’d give them, which is the best version of me and that’s what we’re going to do. That has started, that’ll continue this weekend, and it’ll continue for however long it takes for me to give them and complete that promise of giving them the best version of me possible.

“I ask that somehow you can allow those players that we bring onto this football team, allow them the excitement and joy of starting a journey. I hope that you can do that. I’m focused on this team going forward, and out of respect to my family, I won’t have any more comments or answers to touch on.”

Nope. Sorry. Not answering questions from the media on this is not taking accountability.  I don’t see how he keeps his gig as head coach. I guess he can if he is held to a different standard. A lower standard. Stay tuned.

I just saw this in the Chron:

The Cesar Chavez/67th Street station, part of Metro’s Green Line for nearly a decade, will be renamed amid a nationwide backlash against the late labor leader

Located in the Magnolia Park area, the station takes its name from nearby Cesar Chavez Boulevard and has been part of the Green Line since its 2017 expansion.

Folks know that I am a Red Line rider. I have never taken the Green Line into the East End. Stay tuned on this.

I am thinking the next brouhaha at H-Town City Hall will be on the budget. Let’s hope it does not turn into a food fight. Speaking of the H-Town city services, my black garbage bin and green recycling bin were both picked up on the regularly scheduled day yesterday by 9 am. Nobody talks about this though.

KPRC Channel 2 News reporter Haley Hernndez is the featured photo today. It is now former KPRC Channel 2 News reporter Haley Hernndez. Today was her last day on air. She is taking a break from local broadcast journalism. She is one of my favorites. She is very informative on health news matters. In fact, she was awarded the best health reporter in Texas by the Texas Medical Association. In a statement she posted on FB, she says she wants to step back after working the early news shift. I get where she is coming from on this. Through the grind, Haley found the time to write a children’s book titled School Makes You Super.

I will miss her as there will be one less Hernandez on Channel 2. Don’t worry, there is still Cathy and Lisa

The Yankees and Astros will play this evening and just a few blocks away, the Lakers and Rockets go up against each other. Both are 7 pm starts. Plan ahead and be safe if you are headed to Downtown H-Town tonight.
