TV Snooze
Abdul El-Sayed. Abdul El-Sayed. We are going to be hearing a lot about him over the next 13 weeks. Let me put it this way. MAGA is going to spend a ton of dough demonizing this fella. You know – his name. Hey, Michigan Democrats selected him as their nominee for U.S. Senate. I respect that.
The fella believes that ICE needs to be abolished. There is nothing radical about that position.

At the game last night, my best friend and I had a lengthy discussion about AI and how there have been instances of AI getting out of control. This morning I ran across this on Daily Beast. See this:
A tool used by the artificial intelligence company Anthropic pretended to be a human being to try to gain access to a database. During routine AI safety testing carried out by the U.K.’s AI Security Institute, one of Anthropic’s AI agents, Mythos 5, created fake online profiles to try to trick someone into inserting malicious code into GitHub, a prominent open-source project where technology developers store software code. The testing revealed that the Mythos agent engaged in “social engineering” by creating fake online identities and using them to pressure the project’s maintainer to approve the code. The model even tried to adapt its manipulation attempt when it was uncovered, and changed its behavior to “appear harmless and considered adopting a fresh identity to continue.” While the attempt to insert malicious code into GitHub was unsuccessful, the institute warned that this was the first time it had witnessed an AI model carry out such levels of “autonomy and deception” on its own accord. Anthropic said the AISI testing parameters were “not representative of any of our production models.” The AI company added it will be launching an investigation into the incident to “identify the causes of its behavior.”
AI could very well control us. Oh, well.

Memphis Fox 13 morning anchor Dominique Dillon fell asleep on-air last week. See the featured photo. Ms. Dillon visited Studio 1A this morning and was interviewed about her on-air TV snooze. On “Today” she said her 8-month-old toddler kept her up and she was only able to get a couple of hours of sleep. Too funny.

HOUSTON – Daniella was placed on leave while the company conducted an internal review regarding tickets she received for a concert and FIFA World Cup matches. While there was no conclusion that the tickets influenced or were connected to her journalism or news coverage, Daniella acknowledged that accepting the tickets could be perceived as a conflict of interest.
To eliminate any appearance of a conflict, she has made a charitable donation that reflects the cash value of the tickets.
Throughout her career, Daniella has earned the trust of viewers through her commitment to journalism and service to the Houston community. We appreciate her cooperation throughout the review and look forward to welcoming her back to the anchor desk.
Because this is a personnel matter, KPRC 2 will not comment further on the internal review or any personnel actions.
Daniella will address the matter when she returns to KPRC 2 News Today on Thursday morning.
